Guest guest
Today, looking at turtles at school, but not under MY care, the kids noticed one of the turtles had a bleeding foot! So we (other science adult) took out the turtle. He (the turtle) was not a happy camper! One of the kids had seen another of the turtles (all red-eared sliders) bite him! :^( Anyway... as I was carring the hurt turtle to a sink to look more closely, he bit me! I forget! My aquatic turtles are SO tame! They come to me when I am near their tank. I can put in minnows, pellets... or reach in and pet them. :^) Back to the turtle at school today... We put him in a small water-filled tub to observe. Bleeding stopped. Offered him a little bit of food. Then put him back with his siblings. I'll make sure the teacher who does care for them hasn't forgotten to feed them. I still love turtles! He didn't know me! I was carrying him, out of his tank, across the room! He freaked out and bit! Hey! I understand!!! " The cat did not respond. She did not believe in paraphrasing anybody. If people pursued this same feline wisdom, there'd be a lot fewer misunderstandings.
