Guest guest
I will try beets as a sandwich filler. I've never heard of that. I like them in the center of my mashed potatoes and on salads so this has to be good also. Thank you...........Donna organic_homestead <organic_homestead wrote: I love all beets, but the first time I tasted roasted golden beets, it was pure delight. This week I opened up a jar of homemade pickled beets (not by me) and I've been eating them with herb feta cheese. A very nice combination. Growing up we would eat cheese and beet root sandwhiches. The English call beets, beet root. My mom would lay the beets on a paper towel to soak up the extra juice and so the bread wouldn't stain. But with a nice layer of cheese on one side and butter on the other, I would be done with my sandwhich before it had a chance. Have you eaten golden beets? They are really tasty steamed and don't tstain the sink when you peel and cut them. I made those last weekend..............Donna. > > Jenni Billings <jenni@b...> wrote:That sounds really good! > I'm going to have to remember to get those next time I'm at the store! > =) > thank you for taking the time to share that info! =) > > jenni > > >
Guest guest
were the beets cooked first? I know they are very hard when they are raw. The inside of a fresh beet is beautiful. Just look at it. Blessing,s chanda - GeminiDragon Thursday, April 14, 2005 10:01 AM Re: Golden Beets Re: Hi Denise I will try beets as a sandwich filler. I've never heard of that.
