You know, I think it had to do with always offering a variety of

things.. never saying EWW this is something you won't like.. and not

forcing they eat stuff.. just having everyone try things.. and

encouraging them to taste one bite each time... sometimes they hate

things at one point, and LOVE it later! ... of course it helps that I

had a change of heart about broccoli!

my son was eating broccoli as a toddler, when I hated it... now i

absolutely love it! before that I had only my mom's broccoli as a

point of reference.. (frozen, over cooked broccoli.. YUCK!!) Same

thing goes for peas! lol

my kids always get peeved when kids books say something about how kids

hate broccoli or veggies... It cracks me up!

when we are at the grocery store, they like to look at things and

always try to get me to buy them... speaking of which.. do any of you

like brussel sprouts??? if so.. how would you recommend cooking them...

I haven't had the nerve to buy them, but my daughter asks me everytime

we shop at wholefoods to get them..

I guess I " m pretty lucky!

we all like trying new things! =)

=) Jenni... who is always learning a thing or two from her kids!! =)

My sis and me always loved most all foods when we were kids. My friend's parents

would tell their kids to be more like me, tee hee. That's funny, little did they

know.....<evil grin>

Anyway this is a great way to cook sprouts:

Time consuming, but good. Take your Brussels sprouts and pulls them apart leaf

by leaf. When you have a big pot full of brussel leaves take a sigh of relief

that it is over and steam them until they are as tender as you like.

Toss them in some melted butter seasoned with whatever you like, I do a little

garlic powder, you can get creative. Oh, and I always add some black pepper too.

Yumz.

You can also toss them in some olive oil and make it vegan, also yumz, just

don't forget the garlic and black pepper, and salt to taste after when they are

on your plate. :o)
