You might want to give it a go since it appears to be spicy and I know she loves hot food. I don't know of anyone eating the shell so I don't know if it's bitter ,etc. I have never heard.....You're welcome DonnaChili Roasted Edamame These can be served hot as a side dish or cooled as a snack or appetizer. 12 ounces frozen edamame, shelled (green soybeans) 2 teaspoons olive oil 1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crushed 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon onion salt 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 1/8 teaspoon paprika 1/8 teaspoon black pepper Stir together the oil, basil, chili powder, onion salt, cumin, paprika and black pepper in a small bowl. Toss the beans in the spices and oil until well coated. Arrange the beans in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Roast, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring once, until the beans begin to brown. Refrigerate any leftovers. " The afternoon knows what the morning never suspected.
