Guest guest
When you get the consistency correct I'm waiting for the recipe (:-))))) I have a bean loaf recipe I just found in an old cookbook where I had written it down and I will send it in. Hopefully later today. You make with a can of refried beans and it's great. Now I'm off to make chai cookies with the new mix I found....D Chanda/Maria <puterwitch wrote:I made something similar the day before yesterday from canned red beans. Next time I am going to add some rice for maybe a less mushier consistency. I cut liquids to a minimum for this but it's just the beans are mushy so the consistency is going to be mushy no matter what. I think next time I am going to do beans, rice, and maybe chopped mushrooms too. ) Blessings, Chanda - GeminiDragon Saturday, April 02, 2005 1:23 PM Re: Nature burger loaf............... Then i turned the heat down to a simmer, covered the pan, and cooked them until they were tender. Most cookbooks where they list bean cooking times suggest that red lentils only need about 20 minutes to cook and brown lentils about twice that [40 to 60 minutes]. However, i always find they need more than that to have the texture i prefer. i didn't time how long i cooked them in this recipe prior to adding them to the loaf mixture, but i know it was a bit over a half hour. Hope this helps. ~ pt ~ The old Lakota was wise. I am not bean literate but I want to be. I like them. Blessings, Chanda
