Guest guest
Jiraph, you made me laugh too!! My mom, on meeting my future hubby for the first time threw a framed Republican award (my dad's) at him...keep in mind he was wearing a tie die shirt and had long hair, it was probably quite shocking to her proper british sensibilities... I knew he was a keeper after that, he didn't give up on me despite her!! Luckily, I had a grandmother who like those of you with great moms, was totally loving and accepting. I also fortunately spent a great deal of time living with her as a child - in fact, she'd met the boyfriend before mom cuz I was living there at the time. If it hadn't been for my grandmother, I don't think I'd have any self esteem, nor be the kind of mother I am...I thank her every day! My mom has some serious emotional & perhaps mental issues & refuses to try and get help...I mostly now feel sadness about her. One of the nice things I guess about older age, I think some of the anger dissipates? Hug your moms you lucky guys...the rest of us have to work up the energy for a phone call!! m
