Guest guest
Oh Lori, those apples and beer brawts would have been delicious with my hominy last night. I might make those for this Sunday.........Thank you, Donna Whats in a name? <dalilover3000 wrote: Really simple and really delicious. I had a Tofurky once and BLAH! lol I recently discovered, however that they have a great line of 'sausages' that taste delicious! I've used this recipe for all of them to the delight of my friends and family. These are great especially for cookouts as the sausages hold up well to grilling over a fire! I tend to cook like my grandma, thus I rarely use measurements - only when the flavor depends on it. So, my recipes are really 'to taste'. Peppers & Sausage Ingredients: Meatless sausage of choice, grilled Whole wheat or other hoagie roll - OR - serve over pasta or rice Fresh or frozen peppers cut into strips Sweet onions (Vidalia, Walla Walla or a standard onion will do also) cut into rings Sweet Hungarian paperika (a good one makes all the difference) Kosher salt/fresh ground pepper to taste Extra virgin olive oil Method: Cook the paprika in the olive oil for a couple of minutes to release the flavor. Add the peppers and onions Sautee until as tender as you like Salt & pepper to taste Top bunned sausage and watch the carniverous around you drool! lol -- Apples & Beer 'Brawts' Ingredients: Tofurky Beer 'Brawts' Apples - I like Granny Smith Brown sugar Method: Halve the apples Grill Top with a pinch of brown sugar Grill the brawts Serve brawts and apples with rice or roasted potatoes If anyone has any variations of these recipes, please share as I'm always looking for new ways to do 'em! Enjoy! Lori ~ Seattle
