Guest guest
Last Updated: Friday March 04 2005 08:50 GMT It's not hard for me to be a vegetarian Alina eats lots of vegetables (Link to Article) http://tinyurl.com/47358 March is veggie month! Eleven-year-old Alina has been a vegetarian for nearly a year and in her report she tells us why she decided to stop eating meat. " I became a vegetarian last year because I don't like cruelty to animals. I saw a programme on television about factory farms and I thought it was wrong to treat animals like this. It wasn't hard to give up eating meat. At first my dad said to try it for a week and I was fine. Lots of vegetables There are lots of things you're able to eat if you're a vegetarian - even fake bacon! I especially eat lots of vegetables, my favourites are mushrooms and broccoli. Quite a few of my friends are vegetarian but that didn't influence my decision to not eat meat. It doesn't bother me to see people eating meat, I just know I could never eat meat again. Stay healthy I think once you become a vegetarian it's very hard to go back to eating meat. My mum has been a vegetarian for 20 years but my dad and my sister eat meat; my sister sometimes makes fun of me. My advice however would be to not become a vegetarian if you don't like many vegetables - it wouldn't be healthy for you.
