Guest guest
heh, about this time every year, i made it something of a personal tradition to write an annual " to heck with valentine's day " poem (that's my clean terminology for it) if I don't have a significant other. i think now i've written one of my best anti valentine day poem's to date. i'm still working on it because i'm going to incorporate some of the histories of the man/men the holiday was named after, but everyone I've shown the rough draft to so far has really liked it, so i thought i'd share it with the fellow lovelorn types who may lurk on this board. ======================================== TOAST TO VALENTINE'S DAY I would like to raise a toast to the inspiration for Valentine's Day: a man named St. Valentine I find it a great irony that this day for lovers full of hearts and flowers is named for a great martyr or two or three depending on which histories you read a man who underwent great suffering So, in the honor of St. Valentine, raise your glass RAISE YOUR GLASS! Here's to taking Cupid's arrow and shooting it up his goddamned ass. ======================================== Megan Milligan Desert Rose Musings (www.desertrosemusings.com) (finally finished!!!!!!)
