Guest guest Posted February 2, 2005 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 Ingredients (use vegan versions): vegan bittersweet chocolate squares fresh strawberries Optional: pretzles and bananas Directions: Set up a double boiler by boiling a few inches of water in a small pot and balancing a metal bowl above it. Or buy a double boiler, which is totally unnecessary. Melt a few squares of bittersweet chocolate in the double boiler. When it's all melted, dip strawberries in the chocolate holding onto the green part and only dipping 2/3 of the berry. Lay dipped strawberries on wax paper to set. This recipe works for pretzles too, although you have to check the ingredients on the package. If you want to dip banana pieces, put a toothpick into the banana piece and dip the entire banana piece leaving no spot undipped or the banana will turn brown and look unattractive. Freeze the dipped banana pieces, and they'll keep indefinitely, but thaw them out a few minutes before you eat them or they'll kill your teeth with cold when you try to bite into one. Okie dokie.
