Guest guest
I make this all the time for a tuna sandwich, TOFUNA 1 lb. firm tofu 1/3 cup mayo (vegan or real) 2 tsp. mustard 1/2 tsp salt dash of pepper 1/8 tsp. tumeric (optional) 1 rib chopped celery 3 green onions or 1/2 brown onion chopped 1/2 tsp soy sauce * optional 1/2 tsp. of goma furikake (it's in the Asian store and it's teeny bits of dried seaweed in a shaker bottle with sesame seeds. It adds the fish taste since it's a sea vegetable. You don't have to use this but I do since it's so easy for me to find here. Instructions: Drain water from the tofu my slicing it and laying on paper towels. Mash tofu in bowl to a crumbly consistency. Add ingredients and mix will. Serve as a sandwich filling or on a bed of lettuce. Hope you enjoy this as much as I have over the years...............Donna Diamond Dog <diamonddog wrote: At 09:40 PM 1/21/2005 +0000, you wrote: >I'm intrigued...I've never seen or heard of this?!! > >I must say I really miss tuna sandwiches - been veggie for gosh, 15 >years I think, I miss tuna & bacon. The recipe by Delights Of the Garden is fabulous! It's a carrot base, but you wouldn't guess it by the taste! Soooo good! V.
