Guest guest
Thanks to all the great help on substitutions and muffin recipes. I'll be ready this weekend to do some baking. Hey I just had a thought.....I still have an upopened container of SilkNog. Could I use that in place of buttermilk if I add lemon juice? Is that just too weird? Last holiday season(03) when I still lived in Oregon, all the stores I shopped at ran out of SilkNog. At times I drove out of my way looking for it. I now live in SW Iowa and I was happily surprised to see the local grocery store carry it, they already carry Silk brand. I bought quite a few thinking it might disappear. Ha, it barely moved off the shelf. But, I know at least one other person was buying it. I served it to a couple of kids, without telling that it was Soy Milk. They asked why it was so " thin " , I told them it was low fat. My nephew being one of them promptly asked his mom if she would buy the real " high fat " stuff. I had a good chuckle.
