Guest guest
Hi, My name is Pamela, I've recently joined your group and have been watching your postings for a week or so now and find the messages to be informative and entertaining (love the canned peas!). I am not a vegetarian - yet. I've been thinking about becoming one for some time now. I've been studying yoga seriously for the past two years and being a vegetarian is in the yoga philosophy. I love animals and have a hard time lately when I think of how they are slaughtered for food. So for these two reasons I'm thinking that to stop eating meat is a good thing. There is one thing that troubles me, how do you get the protein you need in your diet??? Also, I am diabetic (Type II) and have it very much under control. I do have a tendency to eat more carbs than I should and am afraid I would substitute pasta, breads, legumes etc for the meat that I eat now. I am quite sure that I will get all the answers I need to help me finally make this decision from this group and let me say in advance, I greatly appreciate it. I still have to check out your recipe files, I am sure I will find some wonderful recipes. In fact I am going to try the Pilgrim Pie that was posted the other day tomorrow - my first time eating tofou! Peace and blessings, Pamela
