I eat different squashes a few times a week. Which ones are you interested in?

I love acorn baked, steamed opo, chayote, summer, banana squash, zucchini, crook

neck, spaghetti squash I use as pasta and others. I will help you with recipes.

The zucchini pie recipe I sent in is wonderful too............Let me know, Donna

I love the French cut green beans. My son loves it when I use the bread crumbs

and garlic on them, but hubby doesn't. I fry them in olive oil and garlic, and

add a little bit of bread crumbs yum. I don't like almonds in mine, butif you do

you could add those too, or those French fried onions. I hope they aren't fried

in lard, I will have to check, haven't used them in a while.

I want to start using more squashes.

Blessings,

Chanda

It's a deal and I'll give the canned potatoes a try just like you make them

for your kids. I first have to see if they have them in the market down the

canned veggie isle.

Oh, the thin French cut green beans in a can are also good in the center of

mashed potatoes.

I saw a recipe in a health magazine for mashed potaoes and leeks. You just

boil some chopped leeks in with the potatoes. Drain and mash with some

vegetable broth and a little a little salt. Looked wonderful.

I am gonna try the peas in the mashed. I always use corn. Maybe I'll do peas

and corn. Yum.

recipe using canned cream corn

My nephew loves to make this and eat with a bowl of vegetarian chili.

Make a box of the Jiffy cornbread according to instructions and then added

1/2 cup creamed corn and 1/2 small can diced ortega green chili's and bake.

Now I like to add the creamed corn in the center of my mashed

potatoes........Yum!

Oh thanks so much Donna!

Interested in every squash except zucchini I guess, LOL. Zucchini is ok, I never

met a vegetable that I hate, but I prefer the others. Look forward to squashing!

Mom never ever made it when I was a kid.

Root, stem, leaves: vegetible.

Seed bearing: fruit.
