Guest guest
Hello from a recent newcomer to the group. Apart from having fish a few times over the first several months, I've been vegetarian since July 1987. Currently, I consider myself lacto-vegetarian--I have yogurt or cheese occasionally, have not eaten a " visible " egg for a few years (have not bought them for nearly a decade), although some of the prefab products I buy do have egg as an ingredient. From the time that I was old enough to understand " where meat comes from " I was horrified @ the thought, but was indoctrinated to the idea that " everybody " needs meat to survive. Even years later, after I learned otherwise, my childhood conditioning was so ingrained that I was initially very nervous about becoming vegetarian (which accounts for those early slip-ups). I live in Southern CA (Long Beach area) with my (vegetarian) life partner & our (nonvegetarian) cats. Sorry for the lengthy intro, I'm usually less wordy ;-) Happy to be here, Panda
