I slice apples pretty thing (core them first, peel them if you choose - my kids prefer them peeled) - then dip them in pancake batter, make it not too runny (I've heard of it done with bisquick, too - I just don't like the stuff) - then I fry them in a little oil, like a pancake...again, I've a friend who deep fries them - I'm scared of large amounts of oil however!
