Am glad you checked that one out Prashanth. I have seen it a few

times since it came out and is a good one to email to friends.

Thanks for bring it up!

I am glad to hear u r veggie bred. There is someone here who

had the same good start and is now 65... correct? I abandoned

a heavy meat oriented diet to practice macrobiotics and have

been vegan most of the last 20 years [sometimes vegetarian]. My

children were small when we went veggie....

The macrobiotic movement which hit the US in the 50s, is

based on avoiding unnatural chemicals and pollution since it

was introduced by doctors to save people from radiation after the

bombs hit Japan in the 40s. The book " TheMacrobiotic Way "

talks about getting in touch with yourself and environment and

seeing the big picture [large life]. I havent read it in years but i

appreciated the content.

When my small son refused meat, I was serious about making

sure he got a balanced meal. Obviously, someone put some

thought into raising you even if it was for religious or social

reasons.

Another post eluded to The Essene Gospel of Peace which

implied that Jesus was a vegetarian and practiced bowel

cleaning. Since people had worms from eating pigs, it make

sense for a prophet known originally as " healer " to promote

colon cleaning and soforth. I also note that he hung out with

fishermen later according to other biblical writers.

It is interesting what old manuscripts were cannonized by early

scholars as culture and agenda influenced the Roman Catholic

church. When the Christian movement became popular, the

Roman leaders and soldiers were more apt to promote their

Christ as " conquerer " like they did with Mithras. Vegetarians and

those who actually honor other life forms are a minority in this

movement today. ds
