Guest guest
Thanks Amy for your explanation. I had to laugh actually. Because it appears I always use " scratch recipes " . We do not have so many pre-packaged things as you have in the States, or at least, I never see them. Maybe in Tel Aviv in the more well-to-do neighbourhoods? I know there are some cake-mixes in the supermarket, but I never buy them. Now I remember: There are some almost ready-to-eat things made by Tivall, to be kept in the freezer until use. Things like broccoli or cauliflower schnitzels, tofu paddies (right word?). We sometimes eat them. We do have quick cooking oats, my husbands eats his porridge every morning (prepares it himself). I don't mind giving a recipe, but you all are such experienced cookers/cooksters. I have the book by Jane Kinderlehrer, " Cooking Kosher, The Natural Way " . I also have two vegetarian cookbooks by Colin Spencer. I think he is British. If someone is interested in a recipe, I will gladly copy it. Wishing you all a happy meal ~ Dorith
