Guest guest
And as far as I know, here at least those rabbi's and supervisors get a lot of money for their certification and checking, much too much for the little work they have to do. To tell you the truth, I find it disgusting. Of course, rabbi's have to earn a living, but then they should do some real work. Maybe in the States it is different. I am not sure how much the salary is - here its the actors, singers, sports players that are over paid..... (How much work do they do?) I'd rather pay them for what they do do rather than handing out welfare - which is the apparent option. Scratch - would be a recipe that uses basic ingredients instead of packaged goods. another example: Squash Biscuits 1/3 cake of compressed yeast 1/4 cup of brown sugar 1/2 cup of lukewarm water 1/2 teaspoonful of salt 1/2 cup of scalded milk 1/4 cup of melted butter 1/2 cup of cooked squash (I use what is available, butternut, acorn, zucchini) About 3 cups of bread flour Soften the yeast in the water, add the other ingredients and mix to a soft dough. Knead nearly ten minutes, using no more flour than is necessary. Cover and let stand over night. In the morning the mixture should have doubled in bulk. Turn upside down on a floured board, then pat and roll into a sheet nearly an inch thick. Dip a cutter in flour and cut into rounds. Set these close together in a baking pan, first brushing the surfaces that will come in contact with melted butter. When very light (double in bulk) bake about half an hour. Glaze with starch and sugar just before removing from the oven. Instead of: 1 scoop of biscuit mix 1 cup of water mix, roll, cut, & bake Or; open the package, place on cooking sheet and bake
