Dear Vegetarian Family

Hi - I am a new member, and I am pleased to be here. I have eaten meat all of my

life, and am tired of the sluggish, tired feeling - I just desire to be

healthier as well as to not participate in the killing of God's creatures.

Regarding Morningstar Farm products, I will look for these at my local Farmer

Jack grocery stores. I will try these.

Also, I'm a Seventh-Day Adventist, and for spiritual reasons, I'd like to

eliminate meat from my diet. So, I appreciate this group, the support, the

guidance, and the recipes.

Oh - My name is " Lotta Honey " , I am Fabulous Forty and reside in southeastern

Michigan. I hope to relocate to Oklahoma soon....to a more rural environment.

Any Oklahoma Members?

I appreciate you ALL!!!

Sincerely,

" Lotta Honey "

Hello, Rick. Welcome to the group and congratulations on your decision to go

vegetarian. I started as a lacto-vegetarian 5 years old. I have been a

strict vegetarian (vegan) now for 2 years and it had been the most

fulfilling thing I have ever done. Not only am I healthier, but I also feel

as though I am making a difference.

Keep up the good work!

Hello everyone,my name is Rick. I'd like first of all to thank the moderator

for letting me join this group. I've been a vegeterian now for about four

months and I feel great. It wasn't easy at first but it's becoming easier

everyday. For example there are many tasty veggie burgers on the market

that I love. The more I eat them the more I don't crave meat. In fact I

don't crave meat at all anymore. I think I lost my craving for meat about a

month into my going vegeterian. I'm a big fan of MorningStar Farm veggie

products. Fanstastic!

I've been pondering vegeterianism ever since high school. I'm 30 now.

It's only been since about 1998 that I really started to think heavily about

going veggie. Up until about four months ago I was on and off vegeterianism

going through half hearted phases. I was saying how much I respect

vegeterians yet biting into a chicken sandwich or some other meat at the

same time. I began to realize how phony I was and that I really needed to

walk the talk, so to speak. So as of about four months ago I began to take

that walk and I just keep on walking!

The difficulties I have now though are not craving for meat but questions

I get from people I work with that are meat eaters and other meat eaters I

come across on a daily basis. I think that I'm armed with plenty of

information to justify my vegetarianism. But the thing is I don't get

preachy about it. Co workers and relatives can eat their meat in front of

me. Though I disagree with their diet choice i'm not the type of vegeterian

who will walk out of the room or something. I don't lecture but if someone

asks me about my veggie diet I will gladly tell them my reasons why in as

nice a way as possible. But I think for the most part friends relatives

and others repect my diet choice.

I classify myself as a lacto-ovo vegeterian, one who still has dairy

products and eggs. But the eggs I cook up are the eggs that come from

vegeterian fed hens. And I only eat eggs about twice a week. Of course some

veggie burgers are made with egg and dairy products. Also I still wear some

clothing made from animals. So therefore I'm certainly not a vegan. But

other than that all meats including fish are no longer part of my diet.

I look foward to making friends and sharing ideas, stories and recipes

with others here at the FeralVegetarian group. Thanks.

Rick
