Guest guest
Hi Debra, I was always told I had lactose intolerance but never believed it. If I took the lactose pills when eating a small slice of cheesecake or scoop of ice cream I felt even worse and ended up having two reactions instead of one. Finally an allergy test done for a sinus problem and the cow's milk patch swelled up to the size of an egg and felt like my skin was on fire, and the doctor ended up giving me a shot of Benadryl. Do you have a bad reaction to cow's milk and how did you find out you were allergic instead of being intolerant? Peace, Donna Debra Lee Thompson <Debrathompson wrote: Hail & Welcome Theresa! Are you looking for any sort of recipes in particular? This group is an amazing wealth of information:) I'm transitioning into veganism (I keep finding bumps along the way - hidden animal derivatives, you know, so I don't feel all that successful at it just yet) from being lacto-ovo. Politics aside, I discerned recently that I have an allergy to cow's milk. I'm in Texas, (Beef Country) so you can imagine what an oddity people think I am;) Brightest Blessings! Guest guest
Hey Donna - I've always had sinus problems, and kept earaches as a child. I also noticed over the years that when I would drink a glass of milk, I'd get a sore throat. Well, I decided to go vegan, and after about two weeks, I slipped up on some masala tea I ordered in a restaurant. It had milk in it, not much, but it was there. First my throat felt really fuzzy inside, then I developed a sore throat within a couple of hours - that lasted until noon the next day. Also, after having been completely off dairy for one week, I started breathing better - more like a normal person and less like an asthmatic! Now I notice even the slightest bit of milk - and I pay for it - with sore throats, earaches, and/or sinus headaches. Guest guest
Thanks Debra for the imfo. My reaction hits me all in stomach. As an infant I was raised on rice milk (back them Mom made it herself) and I used water on dry cereal. They never knew what was wrong with me and I was just told it was lactose intolerance. Hope your holiday has been a nice one......Donna Debra Lee Thompson <Debrathompson wrote: Hey Donna - I've always had sinus problems, and kept earaches as a child. Guest guest
hi debra, dairy affects me in similar ways....sinus problems (including sinus infections and headaches), congestion, and perpetual post nasal drip. i went completely diary free for 6 months one time and all the problems disappeared completely. unfortunately, i went back to diary (i couldn't live without cheese)and many of my problems returned. i wish i had the willpower to give up diary again. susie --- Debra Lee Thompson <Debrathompson wrote: > > Hey Donna - > > I've always had sinus problems, and kept earaches as > a child.
