" Indeed, cuz that's their business (as in money). Also, it's reasonable to say that it is unlikely they are putting out all these yummy soy things for the benefit of vegans or even vegetarians. Vegetarians, that is to say lacto-ovo- or lacto-vegetarians, eat cheese - by definition. Those following a plant-based diet only are themselves a tiny fraction of the buying public. But some people, non-vegetarians as well as vegetarians, are health conscious and want to avoid animal fat because of the cholesterol and not necessarily for ethical vegetarian reasons. Therefore soy cheese is invented and marketed. Frankly, considering the lack of consideration for vegans in the world for the main part, I consider it amazing that a vegan cheez would be on the market at all. Not so much hypocrisy as a different agenda, different market, I think. IMHO. Me? I try to avoid lactose cuz cuz cuz it it it <aaaahhhhh chooooo> (sorry). Best, Pat ;=) --Let us not forget rice cheeses and almond cheeses and so on; they make a wide range of non-milk cheeses, some quite good. I rather like the rice ones, myself, along with some soy. _______________________________ Declare Yourself - Register online to vote today! http://vote.
