Guest guest
Yes, thanks PT - it was a lovely day, but it was not trad. We went out after all, since there were just the two of us, and abandoned the planned Indian smorgesbord (talk about contradicitions!) we had meant to prepare. We went to a Thai restaurant here which is totally vegetarian (non-vegan in some of its desserts), using those things I profess to hate: fake me*ts. But they are clever - they look (some of them, such as the dukk and fissh) very convincing in appearance and texture ('skin' on the dukk, flaky fissh) but are only slightly reminiscent in flavour of the Real Thing, thank heavens (for my taste, that is). Delicious food too - and they have a separate page on the menu of just ordinary not-trying-to-be-me*t tofu and seitan dishes and another of just vegetable stir-fries and curries, as well as a generous selection of noodle dishes and rice dishes. Oh rave rave rave. My only complaint is that they don't understand spicy the way we used to enjoy it in Thailand - for that we have to eat at home. Lovely evening. So thanks. And of course it shouldn't be all about food, but that's what we tend to focus on, isn't it ;=) Best love, Pat ;=) i hope you have a wonderful day of feasting, Pat. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian members. You folks are really blessed to live in such a beautiful country. ===== ----------- " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
