Guest guest
Call me a softie, but reading through this last Digest I felt all overcome by the thought of new people, some newly veggie, and all the 'older' members reinforcing, supporting, helping them. What a remarkable resource is this list! About going veggie and the trickle down effect - this list is a perfect example. Without it so many of us might have slid back into omnivore style or at least not had the courage to go on and, say, declare a no-meat household. As for what one person's vegetarianism can do, well we know it can save lives, both non-human and human animal lives. One life, that would be something magnificent to save! Canadian Thanksgiving is on Monday. We will not of course be eating any once-living creature - my dh and I (for the benefit of newbies) have been veggie off an on (mostly on) for over 20 years. Ours is one of those meat-free households, and when we take friends out to eat (always fun) and we pick the restaurant, we pick a vegetarian restaurant. People act amazed, delighted, enchanted. Perhaps we have very charming friends! LOL So hats off and a coffee-mug salute to PT for this list! Big hugs for you my dear! ;=) And now I will go back and blow my nose, wipe my eyes and wonder what on earth came over this very cynical woman that I should write such an atypical message. And leave the message on the screen. Yeah. Wierd. Best love, Pat in Canada ;=) ===== ----------- " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
