Guest guest
About 30 years ago I needed to eat veggie for my health so began to do so. Most of my family thought I was bazarre and nuts but I held my own. Some of them even tried to prove to me from the Bible that I was going against God's will. Most of my critics have died, so take that for what its worth. I also needed to not eat dairy so that added to the dilemma as dairy farming meat harvesting is the life I grew up in. So suddenly I am going against the family industry. They would say, but where are you going to get protein in your diet? To which I would counter with: where does the steer get the protein he puts into his muscles? Thirty years ago there were very few veggie sources so I began to make up my own recipes. I am 74, a retired minister, and cancer survivor. A really good veggie diet keeps me well. Blessings, Padre Carlitos aka Tuna

That is a wonderful intro. 30 years ago being a vegetarian was considered a strange thing.... some days it seems like not much has changed, but then i come to this group, read the messages, and rest in the knowledge that i am not alone on this path. i hope you will like it here, and i look forward to reading your posts. namaste ~ pt ~ It takes ten pounds of common sense to carry one pound of learning. ~ Persian proverb ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " TUNA BELLA " < padrecarlitos@o...> wrote: > > About 30 years ago I needed to eat veggie for my health so began to do so. > Most of my family thought I was bazarre and nuts but I held my own.
