Guest guest
can't find a green tomato in L.A. except the tomatillo type used for salsa and they aren't the same thing. Guest guest
Hm... well, it doesn't have to be green per say, just slightly under-ripe or sort of firm. i also wonder if a tomatillo might work and taste good in this recipe. Has anyone tried frying tomatillos before? ~ pt ~ Disbelief in the supernatural reflects a failure of the imagination. ~ E Abbey ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , GeminiDragon < thelilacflower> wrote: > can't find a green tomato in L.A. except the tomatillo type used for salsa and they aren't the same thing. Guest guest
I haven't tried fried tomatillos before, but they are pretty small in size around here. I guess they could be little bite sized fried maters. Fried zucchini is excellent and what a wonderful idea with the ranch dip to go with it that was mentioned!! Guest guest
Oh yeah! i love fried zucchini dipped in ranch dressing. Mmmmm. Carl's Jr. [fast food place] has fried zucchini on their menu and i have had them before. i confess i didn't research to know if the way they prepare them is veggie friendly, as in how they use their fat fryer etc.... not as good as homemade, but still yummy. Proving once again that ignorance is sometimes blissful. *lol* ~ pt ~ We are born, we live, we die among supernatural. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " matrixenos " <matrixenos@h...> wrote: > I haven't tried fried tomatillos before, but they are pretty small in > size around here. Yep, as an appetizer, and it is pretty good. You have to be *very* careful not to let them burn, though...they can do that right quick.
