Guest guest
According to " An Evidence-Based Approach to Vitamins ans Minerals " by Jane Higdon, PhD, neuropathy can be a symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency. Although rare in the population at large, it can affect long time vegans and older folks, who cannot absorb B12. This is NOT the same as diabetic neuropathy. That being said, B12 is relatively inexpensive and safe, so it might be worth a try. Keep in mind that B12 supplements can mask a folate deficiency, so a B complex may be a better bet. Remember also that yeast flakes are NOT a reliable source of B12. If you chose to use them, make sure the amount of B12 per serving is listed on the label. I prefer the safer route of fortified foods or vitamin/mineral tablets. Hope this helps, K. vote. - Register online to vote today!
