Thanks ;=) Gary's comment re cotton also struck a chord. Directly killing an animal for its skin is abohorrent to to me; indirect suffering, in an attempt to avoid the direct killing, is lamentable. But can anyone come up with a workable alternative? I ask this, without trying to be inflammatory myself, in the hope that someone can tell me how to find suitable outerwear sufficient to minus 30 degrees C, including boots, without recourse to synthetics. (It may be less polluting, but I won't wear fur; silk is warmish for linings but also non-vegan as is wool/fleece.) Good thread.
