Guest guest
I've been trying to find the long chain Omega-3s (algae, rather than flax) at various HFSs including Whole Foods and the internet. Finally, I found someone who was able to give what sounds like a reasonable explanation. Apparently, the only way to encapsulate the oil is with gelatin tabs, because both kosher (fish) gelatin and veggie gelatin are dissolved by the oil, even when kept in the frig. This is why even the children's " vegetarian formula " EPA supplement that I found was in gelatin. The sales person said they're as frustrated as their customers that no one seems to have found a solution to the problem yet. Now why this means they don't just carry the oil in the refrigerated section, I can't figure out. Has anyone found a source for this? Also, someone (maybe on this list?) pointed out that there are lots of people in the world living in land-locked locales. From an evolutionary POV, there has to be some non-oceanic way to get long chain omega 3s in our system. Anyone have any further info on that?
