A zillion times harder than losing weight (and we all know how easy that is, right?). Different people, different levels of addiction. If 'twere easy, what would be the motivation to continue after some doctor's already cut off a leg and the other foot? It happens, and it's not all that rare. Believe me Lesley, it's the hardest thing I've ever done, by a long way. And I did it twice. Gave up for five years, couldn't stand the cravings any longer, took it up again. Smoked for a few years then stopped again. Easier with the patches, certainly, but still no fun at all. Still want one. I'm with Roseanne, if ever I get the word that I'm not long for this world, I'll be off to the Old Holborn shop like greased lightning. You have my best wishes, Nikki, good luck. Guest guest
Losing weight is not easy. I have no willpower at all in that direction these days, too stressed with the kids. The trouble is you could get a doctor who is wrong and tells you you have very little time to live, and by the time you know they were wrong you could have got addicted to nicotine again. The nicotine is out of your body after a few days, you should not get cravings 5 years after quitting, that is definitely all in the mind. Nikki, my dad is an ex-smoker and he hates my mum smoking these days, not everyone finds it hard to quit, he said it was quite easy, so don't expect it to be hard and you will find it easier if you think positively that it can be done.
