Guest guest Posted December 9, 2003 Report Share Posted December 9, 2003 Mazidra Source: Country Kitchen Colletion My family loves this! 5 1/2 cups water 2 cups lentils 1 small onion, chopped 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. marjoram 1/8 tsp. thyme 1 bay leaf 2 - 3 cups cooked brown rice, hot shredded lettuce diced tomatoes diced avocado chopped olives lemon juice, optional garlic salt tomato sauce In a covered pan, lightly boil first eight ingredients for 45 minutes. Assemble on plate the following ingredients: Cooked brown rice, lentils, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced avocado, chopped olives, lemon juice, garlic salt and your favorite tomato sauce. ****We like shredded cabbage instead of lettuce; and a creamy white sauce (such as Ranch Dressing) is great with this also.
