My name is Viveca. I am a young 56 year old. I live in Palm Beach Gardens,

FL.

I have been married for 31 years to my present husband (2nd marriage).

I have 2 grown children--a girl & a boy. I have 3 granddaughters by way of

my daughter. My son isn't married at this time.

I have been a vegetarian for 27 years and a vegan for 4 years.

The first year that I became a vegan, I was also 100% raw. After 1 year, I

decided to start eating some cooked foods again. One thing led to another

and before I knew it, I was addicted to many of the foods that I hadn't been

eating.

I came to my senses Saturday night and have gotten back to the program, so

to speak. I need to lose about 20+ pounds.

Sunday I drank only smoothies (vegan protein powder added), Monday I had

those and some oranges, yesterday was smoothies and fruit and today I will

add vegetables to my diet.

To me, getting started is more than half the battle. I thought it would be

a great time to join this list to share with other vegetarians that are

interested in losing weight. It will help motivate me.

I try to stay active, but some weeks aren't as good as others. I do at

least get in 3 days of water exercise, but on a perfect week, I would get in

about 5 days of water exercise, 3 days at the gym and 1 bike ride.

My husband is a vegetarian, but will not go out out of his way to eat eggs

or dairy. Once in a while, it may be an ingredient in something he eats

away from home. I would say that he is 98% vegan.

I do all the cooking at our household, but he fixes a lot of his own food

since he tends to be addicted to eating peanut butter and apples & peanut

butter and ricecakes, etc. He can fend for himself, but I would like to

start making more vegan meals.

I look forward to meeting the other mebers here!

Viveca

Welcome to our group Viveca!

Glad you are back on your program! I just recently started doing Weight

Watchers again since I had gained some weight back and am happy with the results

so far!

I'm sure you'll have lots of low-fat recipes to share with us with all of your

experience!

Again, welcome and don't forget to poke around our files as we have a lot of

good info & recipes.
