Guest guest
Hi Daphne and welcome! I see you've jumped right in and made yourself at home. We like that! :-) Where in Arizona are you? My brother and my parents are both in the northern outskirts of Tucson. Sounds like extra work making separate proteins for meals. You've probably got it down though. Luckily my partner is also vegetarian so we don't run into that. Glad to have you here! Cindi, co-owner of group with Pat Daphne Barton <daphnebarton wrote: To get you started, why not tell us: * your name or nickname * where you live (continent, region or city, whatever) * your age group - teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or more (congratulations!)? Sorry Iv got a short attentions span. Im Daphne, in my 30's, live in Arizona, married and one child. Also: * Are you vegetarian (or vegan), still working at it, or still thinking about it? How long? * Are you the only veggie or wannabe in your household? How many others? * Do you do the cooking or is it shared? Working on it vegetarian. Still use chikn broth. I am alone in my venture. My husband turns up his nose at most things and can only be convinced to eat a vegetarian dish if it contains cheese. My daughter has been conditioned by her father to eat animals, she used to love most fruits and vegges. Her favorite is spinach, so any cooked green is " spinach " . I do all the cooking, usually making a separate protein for me and sharing the sides of grains and veges. Lunch gets to be a drag, if I dont plan ahead and make a big lot of something Im kind of stuck. Oh well theres always grapefruit! WAIT! Anything else you would like to tell us? This is your Big Chance!!! I participate in a produce co-op, I grow a small organic garden, I practice yoga, I am a recovered alcoholic, both my parents are passed away, my husband is a very good man but has an unbecoming pessimism and often is 'irritable', what I call in a bad mood. Oh yeah, Im also in AlAnon, so I dont have to a. leave him b. kill him c. hate him. did I mention hes the father of our dear daughter? So I put up with his stuff-any sisters out there who hear me?! What a wonderful miracle, if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant. -Henry David Thoreau
