Guest guest
Welcome Melissa! You and I are the same age. :-) How had your first week been? I think getting more fruits & veggies in everyone's diet is a great idea. We have tons of main meals, side dishes and other great recipes in our files so make sure you check them out for healthy meal ideas for your family. Most of our recipes are also low-fat/slimming (we do have a non-slimming folder for those once in a while splurges!) so there are ways to slim down while eating healthy, fulfilling veg meals. We're a friendly group with a huge range of knowledge and experience so if you need any info or support, just ask! How long? Trying...but I've only been trying for 5 days. lol * Are you the only veggie or wannabe in your household? How many others? Yep, I'm it. My husband and 3 kids aren't doing it, BUT I do intend for them all to start eating more fruits and veggies as we ALL need it! * Do you do the cooking or is it shared? I do the cooking. WAIT! Anything else you would like to tell us? This is your Big Chance!!! I need to lose about 20 lbs that I've managed to put back on! Yikes! lol Thank you! Guest guest
Hi! Well, I won't lie, it's been tough! lol I am going to have to look at the recipes for certain. I can't figure out what to cook! Last night everyone else had steak and fries. It looked ok. I had a baked potato with some veggie chili I had bought and some steamed broccoli. Easter is coming up and I'm not sure what to fix. Normally I would fix a ham. This year....nope! lol I will probably fix pork chops for everyone else and then lots of veggies. I think I'm missing having meat as my MAIN dish. I need help! lol Melissa in Alabama On Thu, Mar 20, 2008 at 10:01 AM, Cindi <cindi93069 wrote: > healthy, fulfilling veg meals. > > We're a friendly group with a huge range of knowledge and experience so if > you need any info or support, just ask! > > Cindi, co-owner of group with Pat > > Melissa Parker <DragonflyTat2 <DragonflyTat2%40gmail.com>> > wrote: * your name or nickname Melissa > > * where you live (continent, region or city, whatever) Alabama > > * your age group - teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, > 70s, 80s or more (congratulations!)? 38 > Also: > * Are you vegetarian (or vegan), still working at > it, or still thinking about it? Guest guest
Hi again Melissa ~ I hope your Easter went smoothly. Well there are meat substitutes that can help you in your transition if you're missing that. Tofu and seitan are also both wonderfully diverse and can be used for many meals that traditionally call for meat. Have you experimented with either of those much?
