Guest guest
perhaps someone other than can explain it to you better. a food processor chops, grates, grinds, slices thin or thicker slices, sometimes french fry shapes. a food processor has a larger area for the food to be chopped, blended, pureed so there may be only one or two pulses and then the food easily removed from the bowl. sometimes I cook carrots and parsnips together and blend when done in the food processor with a little maple syrup. I blend it once or twice so it's still just a little chunky, sometimeis I blend it longer so it's a puree, then it's easy to get out of the bowl. if I did this in a blender, it would take a lot longer, I wouldn't be able to choose between chunky or pureed as well as with a food processor. if I wanted to make cole slaw, carrot salad or waldorf salad in the blender, likely I'd need to use a lot of water and do a lot more pulsing of the blender blade...with the food processor no water is needed, you don't need to pulse as much to get the desired degree of chopped or pureed food, then much easier to remove from the bowl. there's no way I could make my raw fudge balls in a blender. I would need a lot of liquid in there to blend all that up together in a blender. i hope this helps you understand better. I slice celery with a food processor, you can't slice with a blender, I chop a large amount of walnuts in a food processor, I coudln't do that in a blender without having the nuts pulverized.
