Guest guest
I was making dinner tonight and relised I was making one of my comfort foods that I have revamped to be vegetarian... Chicken and dumplings. Has anyone else done this with their comfort foods? My roommate likes this dish too, I do it this way, It's not a slimming recipie though but could be eaten in moderation. Its the sourthern style dumplings, you know flat. They do come frozen but could be home made. I use Hain " chikin " gravy just one pack in like 5 cups of water, and one large vegetable bouillon and get it boiling, mean while I take a pack of morning star farms chicken style strips and put them in a hot pan that has vegetable spray in it. Cook them until they are browned, set aside and when cooled off rip them into smaller pieces. When the broth is boiling I put the dumplings in and cook until soft and the broth is like gravy, dump in the chicken strips and thats it. It actually is liked by all my non Vegetarian friends.. It's yummy Just thought I would share, Michelle
