Hi Julie and a belated welcome to you as well!

Where about in SoCal are you? I grew up in Ventura County and have also lived

in various sections around the San Fernando Valley. I'm currently up north in

Davis.

I think it's great you are letting your girls decide for themselves and that

they got a veg start in life. We plan on raising our children veg until they

can decide for themselves as well...once we have kids, that is. :-)

I hear ya about the motivation to eat healthy, it's so easy to go the " easy

route " aka eat veg but not so healthy, but boy do fresh meals and

veggies/fruits taste so much better.

Sounds like you're in a great neighborhood to be veg in!

Hi there~

my name is Julie, I am a single mama of 2 girls and

have been a vegetarian for 9 years, I became one for

the animal rights view not the health side.

I live in sunny So Cal.

umm.. i just turned a year older, so i guess my later

30's I am now!!

I do ALL the cooking..

Both my daughters are veggies too, my oldest was born

vegan as I was too, she ate eggs for the first time

at 2 years old and must of ate daily for a month.

My younger daughter eats meat when she visits her

father, and neighbors or friends. It is both my girls

choice to decide what they want to be. My oldest is a

true vegetarian.

So I need motivation to eat healthy, that is the

reason I joined!!

I can't afford, well I am gonna try , to buy organic.

I have gained allot of weight over the past few years,

as I had my thyroid completely removed 5 years ago and

whoa, its been a weight battle.

I do make sure my girls get protein. We LOVE tofu

anything.

We are really lucky as we live by a Vietnamese

community and many of them are vegans so they have

awesome, awesome vegan food that just " rocks our

socks " I have taken so many " meat eaters " to our

favorite " vegetarian feast restaurants " and they are

so surprised on the fact of how its so much like the

taste and texture of meat!! Minus the bad stuff!!

ok.. enough of the huge intro..I am kynda shy, but

will do my best to join in..peAce to all...
