Well, I am not (now) reeeealy overweight but I gained 25 pounds when

the doctor put me on prednisone for my arthritis and have had quite a

time getting rid of it! I am also diabetic so watching my weight and

trying to keep the appetites happy (balance, you know!) is ongoing.

Most of the tahini is on toast for breakfast -- it sort of " sticks to

my ribs " and helps prevent the middle of the morning slump. I am VERY

allergic to peanuts so that is out.

The olive oil? Well, when I quick-fry (like stir fry) chopped greens

w/ onions (or not), I like the little added flavor that it gives. That

plus the fact that it keeps the greens from sticking to the pan! We

try to have some greens every day when we can.

I love food and love cooking -- especially when I enjoy the

ingredients --and it makes me happy to have that good smell around the

house.

Today I plan to make some homemade cranberry relish. Tonight I will

put the sweet potatoes in the crockpot for overnight cooking. It might

sound odd, but they - with or without a pat of " butter " or a dab of

maple syrup or a dash of ginger or cinnamon -- are a very nice breakfast!

There! Have I made you hungry yet? LOL Tomorrow I do the holiday thing

with pots and pots of gravy, potatoes etc. But we will also have a

salad or greens or a tray with carrot, celery sticks etc.
