Okay, guys, I need some help.

I have known for some time that my little guy (9 yo) has a number of food

sensitivities. He is always complaining about stomachaches, heartburn,

reflux, etc. as well as having problems with sleep, behaviour, and a number

of other issues. We had him tested for allergies ages ago, so he is not

" allergic " per se. Anyway, this week has just been awful for him, and we

have all agreed that it is time to stop suggesting that he not eat this or

that, and make a concerted effort to really keep possible offenders out of

his diet and see if things improves.

My gut tells me that the worst offenders are wheat, corn, and dairy.

Now we are not big dairy eaters, but he does love his pizza, burritos, and

mac and cheese. I have been vegan before, so I can find my way around that.

Eliminating corn and wheat, however, are going to be very challenging. He

loves pasta, and has already eaten kamut, rice, or quinoa pasta without

noticing. He also loves popcorn and will eat a ton of it every day. I'm

going to try to get him to focus on rice cakes instead. He likes them, so

the only problem will be keeping them stocked! For cereal, he likes rice

krispies and oatmeal, so I think we'll be okay there. Then there's bread .

.. . I know gluten free is expensive . . . that's going to be more difficult.

For those of you who eat low-fat vegetarian gluten-free casein-free, what

are your favourite meals? DS likes veggies, salad, soup, chili, curry,

etc. Pretty well-rounded, has been vegetarian since birth.
