Guest guest
Welcome, Atma - It's lovely to have you join us You've come to the right place to get support for losing weight as a vegetarian - we have wonderfully motivated members here who have great tips, menu ideas and recipes. This is a low-fat group (meaning both animal fat AND vegetable fats and oils), as our homepage states, so recipes here are very light indeed on what you call the 'heavy dairy' (good term). Likewise the refined sugar - because refined sugar and slimming don't make a very good fit. In general, we recommend that those wishing to lose weight and stay healthy (or of course maintain weight and stay healthy) avoid refined foods altogether. This means using whole wheat or whole grain flours, whole wheat or brown rice pasta, brown rice instead of white, etc. - and avoiding processed foods as much as possible (that's where the extra fats and sugars sneak in all too often). So have a look at the Files on our Homepage and you will find lots of good recipes - very tasty, very easy, and very slimming! Ask for anything else you need, okay? And good for you for doing yoga - it's a great way to keep the body limber and the mind at rest, at the very least Best, Pat (Group Co-Owner with Cindi) > My name is Atma - I live in California . . . have been a lacto-vegetarian > for 27 years. I am also a yoga instructor. Although I'm a yoga > instructor, it doesn't mean I'm a skinny one. . . . .
