Especially with cheese and peanut butter, I make sure I measure my servings (1 oz. of cheese and 2 TBL of peanut butter). I've gotten totally away from having any sweets except fruit (I'll go back to having chocolate after Lent but I'll still only eat an oz or 2 at a time.) As for convenience foods, the only ones I eat are the H-E-B Heart Healthy Brand of instant oatmeal in the mornings, some Amy's Kitchens frozen meals and some of the Morning Star Farms or Boca Brand meat substitutes. Otherwise, the meals I cook are based on whole grains and beans or tofu (sometimes tempeh) and I make salads out of fresh veggies or steam or microwave frozen ones. Lots of good veggies liike brocoli, carrots, green beans, caulflower, zucchini, spinach, etc. are important. I track my calorie intake through fitday and try to keep under a 1,550 calorie a day limit. I don't freak out if I go over. I was at 234 about a year ago and I weighted 187.2 this morning. Until 3 or 4 months ago I was an omnivore but since I've been phasing in a vegan diet (not quite totally vegan yet) it's been easier to lose weight! Hope this helps Tonia
