Guest guest
I found vegetarian Worcestershire sauce recently at Whole Foods. If you can't find it a vegetarian version (without the anchovies - little fishies) where you live, here is a recipe. If I don't have the store-bought stuff in the house, I sometimes cheat - because usually only small amounts are needed. I take a teaspoon of soy sauce or Braggs, a teaspoon of some kind of sweetener, a few drops of vinegar, a pinch of garlic and a pinch of Spike seasoning. Vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce from " The Uncheese Cookbook " by Joanne Stepaniak 6 Tbs water 6 Tbs brown rice syrup 1/4 cup tamari 2 Tbs apple cider vinegar 1 tsp barley malt syrup 1 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp garlic granules 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper tiny pinch ground cloves tiny pinch onion granules Place in blender, bowl or jar with lid. Blend, whisk or shake until smooth. Store in fridge. Keeps well. Makes 1 1/2 cups. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, Inc. www.petsincondos.org - a Florida non-profit corporation South Florida Vegetarian Events www.soflavegevents.net <http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/gateway.aspx?S=5176697856>
