Guest guest
Just to let you all know--I purchased an Arrowhead Mills Brownie mix [17.5 ounces] and a 15 ounce can of Eden Organic Black Beans [15 ounces] at my local coop. I looked at the Duncan Hines Brown Mix, it was cheaper, but it contained hydrogenated fat [an absolute no no for those of us with gall bladder issues]. The Arrowhead Mills Brownie Mix contains no added fat other than the amount in chocolate. It also has a lowfat brownie recipe on the package that substitutes 1/2 cup applesauce for the vegetable oil. That reduces the fat per serving from 7 grams to 1.5 grams per serving. The Eden black beans contain 3.5 grams of fat for the whole can of beans. The ingredients include black beans, water, & kombu seaweed. I am excited. Tomorrow will be the baking day. Me too (used canned black beans once, though, in an emergency to add to For this recipe, however, you might have to cheat and use canned black beans the first time. The amount of liquid would be important, I'd think - and the, er, viscosity (ugh) of it
