HI there Danamarie. I dont often cook TVP because it doesnt agree with me that

well but when i do i make a huge casserole (usually in the slow cooker) but you

can make it in the oven, I add loads of veg and gravy stock cubes,,veggie of

course. I also make it on its own with onions and gravy and have it with mashed

potato,,mmm. Hope this has helped a little. Rhiannon

TVP is sorta like tofu. It doesn't taste like much by itself. You need

to put a spicy or real tasty sauce with it. It is so low sodium you

need something salty. Also, it needs to be used within a reasonable

amount of time. It can get a funny smell if it has been around too

long. I once made a recipe with some older stuff and that smell

permeated the whole recipe. It is best to just toss it if it smells at

all.

This is sort of a non-recipe:

Vegan Pulled " Pork "

Soak chunk size TVP (Texturized Vegetable Protein) or TSP (Texturized

Soy Protein) in boiled water for about 10 minutes. Pulse the expanded

TVP in a food processor a few times to shred it a little. Place in a

pan, smother with bottled BBQ sauce and heat. Serve on buns, open faced

or as a sandwich.
