Guest guest
I am always suspicious of brand names as far as ingredients are concerned. What ingredients are in Lipton's Onion-Mushroom soup powder. I do not think I have seen it at the Coop where I shop. Also, is the packaging reccyclable. Recycling has become a major factor in whether I purchase something these days. Kathleen M. Pelley Knitters are Real Purls Pour in a cup or so of water, toss to moisten everything, then sprinkle in a package or 2 of Liptons Onion-Mushroom soup powder, tossing to coat well. I also threw in some dried mushrooms a friend gave me (homegrown), but that was just cause I had them handy, and I love mushrooms.

I can't remember anything about this product - it used to be the kind of thing people used to make those deathly party dips decades ago, but when I googled just not I found all kinds of recipes for using Lipton soup mixes. Dunno about ingredients, but PETA lists this soup as being vegan http://www.peta.org/accidentallyVegan/VeganShoppingQS-Staples.asp?Category=Stapl\ es and nutritiional facts are to be found, among other places, here: http://www.thecarolinaweigh.com/nutrition/detail/SOUP-LIPTON-RECIPE-SECRETS- ONION-MUSHROOM-MIX-DRY.html I note high sodium content (like most packaged things not from a health store or one's own kitchen) and some fats of the less healthy kind (again, typical of most packaged . . .). >Also, is the packaging reccyclable. Recycling has become a major factor in whether I purchase something these days. Dunno about that either LOL It's difficult, isn't it. We have messed this planet up so badly and yet to my knowledge no other planets have offered us refugee status as yet. Perhaps they are not looking for Planet-Terra- ists. Nevertheless, most of us try to do our bit - and I'm always amazed at new and ingenious ideas people have for recycling or reusing things that previously would have been tossed. I suspect this package is either foil (make a great travelling ashtray for the selfdestrictive or plastic-lined (a poopbag for baby chihuahuas?). And with luck, someone here will know how to fake up that mix in the comfot and privacy of your own home, saving money, health, and the environment in one magnificent gesture. Good luck! ;-) Best love to all - and thanks for the recipe idea, Melissa. I love my crockpot and I love root vegetables - just have to go easy on all those carbs for slimming purposes. > Pour in a cup or so of water, toss to moisten everything, then sprinkle in a package or 2 of Liptons Onion-Mushroom soup powder, tossing to coat well.
