Guest guest
Crockpot Roasted " Roots and Tubers " This is so easy and so delicious! Reminds me of my mom's potroast, without that bad stuff...It can also be done in the oven. Give your crockpot a quick spray of pan release, and start it preheating on " high " while you peel and cut up as much potatoes, parsnips, carrots and onions as you need. Turnips or rutabagas are good here, too. Pour in a cup or so of water, toss to moisten everything, then sprinkle in a package or 2 of Liptons Onion-Mushroom soup powder, tossing to coat well. I also threw in some dried mushrooms a friend gave me (homegrown), but that was just cause I had them handy, and I love mushrooms. Cook on high for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally if you happen to be home. This makes your house smell SOOOO GOOD! Serve with some good bread for a real carb-lovers delight. Excellent reheated for lunch, too. Janet in NC______________ Sent via the WebMail system at email.dnet.net
