Guest guest
Jan said the only thing she misses so far is yogurt. Have you tried soy yogurt? Where I live, event the local Publix chain grocery store has soy yogurt. Specialty health and whole food stores will carry it as well as vegan cheeses (ie, totally non-dairy - no casein or milk protein). Our fakes/faux section in the files has recipes for dairy and egg replacements. I quite frequently have vegan cheez, which has less fat than dairy cheese and often uses a healthy fat like tahini (sesame seed butter), which is rich in calcium. A common meal at our house is a baked potato (with skin) topped with steamed broccoli and one of several melty un-cheese sauces. That and a salad or another vegetable side dish makes a whole meal. from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, http://www.petsincondos.org South Florida Vegetarian Events, http://www.soflavegevents.net
Guest guest
I tried the Silk soy yogurt and it is really gross. As for the " fake " cheese both the soy and the rice cheese have corn starch it them and I am allergic to corn. I was never a big cheese eater anyways.
