Guest guest Posted February 13, 2002 Report Share Posted February 13, 2002 here's another Chinese recipe that uses asparagus. * Exported from MasterCook * Stewed Mushroom on Asparagus with Vegetarian Oyster Sauce Recipe By :Lee Kum Kee Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : China Oyster Sauce Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 7 ounces asparagus 3 1/2 ounces fresh black mushrooms 3 1/2 ounces baby corn 2 slices ginger root 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil 1 teaspoon cornstarch -- mixed with 1 tablespoon water 3 tablespoons oyster sauce 2/3 cup water 1/4 teaspoon sugar 1. Cut the tails of asparagus, cook in boiling water with salt and oil for 3 minutes. Remove and arrange on plate. 2. Heat 2 Tbsp oil, saute sliced ginger until fragrant. Add black mushrooms and baby corn. Stir-fry for 1 minute. 3. Add seasoning mix, simmer for 5 minutes and thicken with corn starch solution. Place over asparagus and sprinkle with Lee Kum Kee Sesame Oil.
