Chocolate Fondue

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 cup corn syrup -- light or dark

1/3 cup sifted cocoa

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 ounce unsweetened baking chocolate

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon cornstarch

3 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

 

The perfect and permissible opportunity for adults to play with their food!

Keep warm in a fondue pot or chafing dish to maintain a dipping consistency

on the buffet table. Make it ahead and reheat when needed.

 

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, over medium heat, stir the syrup, cocoa,

sugar, chocolate, and salt until smooth. Combine cornstarch and water and

add to chocolate mixture, heating and stirring constantly until bubbling

begins. Remove from heat, stir in extracts and cool to desired serving

temperature.

 

Suggested Fruits For Dipping: Orange and tangerine sections, Fuyu (crisp)

persimmon slices, apple slices, pear slices, sliced bananas, dried pears

and apricots, dried pitted prunes.

 

Vegan. Makes about 1 cup.
