Guest guest
I tried this not long ago -- but I used orange juice, dates and pistachios. Heated gently to soften then chopped it all in the cuisinart. This recipe is for ONE serving... I doubled it and used it as a condiment for lentils. nice! * Exported from MasterCook * Date Spread and Crushed Pistachios on Mixed Grain Bread Recipe By :Rose Elliot Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Condiments Sandwiches Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/3 cup chopped dates 1 tablespoon water -- see variation 1 tablespoon chopped pistachio nuts or pumpkin seeds 2 slices mixed grain bread -- for sandwich Make the date spread by gently heating 1/3 cup chopped dates with 1 tablespoon water until soft, then beat until smooth and let cool.
